Description

Access top of fishery by parking on Mather Road in Newark next to the marina and the footbridge. Unfortunately, parking is more limited here than it used to be. Walk down the side of the marina to around peg 5. Alternatively, park on the opposite side of the river near Aldi (Cow Lane) and walk over the footbridge. Cheap all day parking is available opposite the entrance to Aldi. Unfortunately, access to the lower pegs via Hatchetts Lane is not currently available as the pedestrian railway crossing is closed. This means that a bit more leg work is required in order to access the downstream section. This stretch has all the usual species. A good head of Bream, Chub and good barbel on certain pegs. This is a steadily flowing stretch that lends itself to some excellent float fishing.
