Description
To access the fishery, from Newark take the A1133 though Collingham and Girton towards Gainsborough. Take the first left turn (Trent Lane) after Girton signed ‘Girton village only’ and follow to the river. Fishing starts approx. 100m downstream from the fence on the left and continues for about 600 metres or approx. 30 pegs. We have little information regarding this fishery but, being tidal, we would expect it to contain the usual Barbel and Bream. Please note that this fishery is now shared with Scunthorpe Amalgamated Anglers. This fishery is gated and should be secured by connecting the two locks such that members of either organisation can gain access by unlocking their own.
Night fishing is controlled by SAA and season cards are available at a cost of £30. At the moment we are only allowing renewals by members that held a night permit for the 2022/23 season. Once the number of renewals has been established the two clubs may allow a small number of new applications. To renew your night permit, you will need to send a photo of your old permit and a passport style photo of yourself to: scunnyangling@gmail.com. Please use ‘Newark Girton nights’ as the email subject. SAA now use an online membership system called Clubmate. You will be sent instructions on how to register with Clubmate and thus renew your permit. Any problems please use the email address as first point of contact but there is also the SAA office telephone if you really need to speak to someone tel. 01724 855730.
