Description
Access from Newark to Farndon on Fosse Road (former A46). Take the first right turn (Long Lane) into Farndon. At the mini roundabout turn right (Marsh lane) and follow track to car park located around peg 67. At the club’s discretion and subject to ground conditions/livestock, vehicles may be permitted through the gate to be parked behind pegs. Fishing is varied along this stretch with a good head of Roach, skimmers, Bream, Chub and Perch spread throughout the length. Barbel generally show in the early numbers, the 50’s and around the 60’s but can, increasingly, be caught anywhere. All pegs are stoned the same as at East Stoke which makes them comfortable to fish from. This stretch fishes well in the winter and is fishable when the Trent level is up as the main river flow drops away over the weir at Staythorpe. Peg 70 has a disabled platform accessed from gently sloping banks.
